Pharma Leader 2023 recipient: Mark Proctor

We are delighted to announce that this year’s recipient of the Pharma Leader award is the General Manager of AstraZeneca’s R&D and Operations site in Liverpool (UK), Mark Proctor CBE. Mark has a successful two-decade career in pharmaceuticals, beginning with a focus on biopharmaceutical consultancy and advanced facility design.

In 2009 he joined AstraZeneca as Manufacturing, Science, Technology and CMC Director, making significant contributions such as introducing the quadrivalent vaccine formulation and in 2015 he became Senior Director & Head of Global technical Service, streamlining operations and achieving substantial quality improvements before moving into Supply Chain in 2017 where he was responsible for product strategy and new product launch.

In 2021 Mark was appointed as General Manager of AstraZeneca's Global Operations site in Liverpool, responsible for the manufacturing of the children's flu vaccine.

Mark will address the gathering at this year’s awards ceremony on Thursday, 28th of September, 2023, at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate, Manchester
